Our grapple saw
A grapple saw is a very cost-effective method for the felling and removal of large or difficult and hard-to-reach trees, through time efficiency. It is low noise as it has a hydraulic cutting head, so there is no engine noise. The grapple saw greatly reduces the risk by about 80% as lowers the working at height risk for trained professionals important for the safety of tree surgeons, ground workers and for reducing risk of damage to people or property.
EFFICIENCY
Using our custom-built truck-mounted crane allows us to remove the hard work traditionally associated with climbing and cutting trees, along with the inherent dangers of working aloft with heavy power tools.
SPEED
The speed with which fully mature trees can be removed using our truck-mounted grapple saw is incomparable to even the fastest climber, or even MEWP. This is never more important than when the tree is roadside, with the machinery drastically reducing our time on site and any subsequent inconvenience to road users and clients.
SAFETY
We operate one of the only ARB approved UK machines for the safe and efficient removal of diseased Ash trees. Removal of the trees can not be carried out via the conventional way of tree climbing. It will and could most likely prove fatal to the operators if the tree collapses or sections fall.

A BIT ABOUT THE UK Ash dieback (ADS)​​

ASH DIEBACK
Ash dieback (ADS), is a specific vascular disease that affects the structural safety of ash trees of all ages, the disease attacks the tree’s ability to draw water from its roots up through its leaves affecting the tree’s ability to continue growing, the tree ultimately dies, once the tree is dying or becomes dead, the tree canopy, its structural integrity, and root zone become extremely brittle and unpredictable.
No ASH tree is currently immune from its wide and fast spread advance across the UK
The research online by leading governing bodies like the forestry commission suggests that over 80-90% of the Ash trees will eventually die within the next 5 years.
Why is this disease dangerous?
Many of the UK’s ash trees are most commonly found growing along the sides of roads, railways, or in close proximity to residential and commercial properties.

Many 3rd parties and tree owners who are the most at risk are completely unaware of the risks these diseases pose on the ash trees. Most trees will eventually fall in windy weather. The disease effectively kills the immune system of the ash tree and secondary diseases do and will speed up the death of the ash tree and cause the tree to become more dangerous.
